You'll have the chance to collect lots of new Pokemon!

Trainers, the Season of Alola kicks off in Pokemon Go on March 1, 2022, and the game’s Welcome to Alola event begins on the same day.

The Welcome to Alola event will run from March 1 at 10 a.m. local time until March 9 at 8 p.m. local time.

Once this event begins, a selection of Pokemon that were first discovered in the Alola region of the Pokemon universe will become available to collect in Pokemon Go. The Alola region is the setting for the Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon video games.

During the Welcome to Alola event, Rowlet, Litten, Popplio, Pikipek, and Yungoos will appear more frequently than normal in the wild.

Players will also be able to complete a Collection Challenge during this event by collecting six Pokemon from the Alola region:

  • Rowlet
  • Litten
  • Popplio
  • Pikipek
  • Yungoos
  • Gumshoos

If players complete this Collection Challenge, they’ll receive 7,000 experience points and 15 Ultra Balls.

Here are the Pokemon that will appear in Raids during this event:

  • Tier-1 Raids – Bellsprout, Snubbull, Phanpy, Electrike, and Rockruff
  • Tier-3 Raids – Alolan Raichu, Nidoqueen, Wigglytuff, Alolan Graveler
  • Tier-5 Raids – Tapu Koko
  • Mega Raids – Mega Venusaur

Finally, players will be able to earn encounters with Pikipek and Yungoos by completing event-themed Field Research tasks that will be available to collect during this event.
