Verizon subscribers can sign up to receive a free event ticket.
Just a short time ago, Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, announced it had partnered with Grubhub to host a “Special Weekend” event in the free-to-play mobile game.
Now, Niantic has revealed another Special Weekend event, this time sponsored by Verizon.
This event will only be available to “eligible Verizon users anywhere in the United States.” This means you’ll need to be a subscriber to one of Verizon’s mobile plans.
The Verizon Special Weekend event will be held on November 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time.
During this time, participants will be able to complete exclusive Timed Research tasks to receive experience points, Stardust, three Incense, one Star PIece, 100 Charizard Mega Energy, and encounters with Chansey, Spoink, Absol, Bronzor, Gible, and Sewaddle.
In addition, if ticket holders activate Incense during this event, a special selection of Pokemon will be attracted to that Incense. This will include Bulbasaur, Charizard, Squirtle, Pikachu, Unown V, Unown Z, Sableye, Patrat, Minccino, and Ferroseed (Shiny Unown will not be available during this event).
To participate in the Verizon Special Weekend event, Verizon subscribers will need to login to the Verizon Up app at some point between now and 11 a.m. PT on November 7.
Once players receive a code for their ticket, they’ll need to enter the code on Niantic’s offer redemption website to actually receive the ticket in Pokemon Go. When they do, they’ll receive an exclusive in-game medal. Niantic said these codes are limited to one per Pokemon Go account, and they can’t be transferred to another player.
