Pokemon Go Ultra Unlock Part 3 Sword and Shield: Zacian, Zamazenta, and More

This event focuses on the Galar region of the Pokemon universe.

Trainers, Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, revealed exciting new details about the 2021 Ultra Unlock Part 3 event coming to the free-to-play mobile game in August 2021.

The Ultra Unlock Part 3 event is called “Sword and Shield” and it will focus on Pokemon from the Galar region of the Pokemon universe, which were seen in the Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield video games on Switch.

The Ultra Unlock Part 3: Sword and Shield event will run from August 20 at 10 a.m. local time until August 31 at 8 p.m. local time.

During this event, Skwovet, Wooloo, and Falinks will have the chance to appear in the wild alongside pocket monsters like Galarian Darumaka and Trubbish, among others.

Galarian Meowth, Galarian Ponyta, Galarian Slowpoke, Galarian Farfetch’d, Galarian Zigzagoon, Galarian Darumaka, and Galarian Stunfisk will have the chance to hatch from 7 km Eggs that are collected during this event.

In addition, players will be able to complete Timed Research and Field Research tasks during this event to earn encounters with Pokemon from the Galar region.

Two different sets of Pokemon will be available to encounter in Raids during this event.

From August 20 at 10 a.m. local time until August 26 at 10 a.m. local time, the following Pokemon will be available to battle in Raids:

  • Tier-1 Raids – Galarian Slowpoke, Galarian Farfetch’d, Galarian Zigzagoon, and Unown U. Galarian Farfetch’d and Unown U will have the chance to be Shiny.
  • Tier-3 Raids – Galarian Weezing, Lapras, and Falinks. Galarian Weezing will have the chance to be Shiny
  • Tier-5 Raids – Zacian
  • Mega Raids – Mega Beedrill

Then, from August 26 at 10 a.m. local time until September 1 at 10 a.m. local time, these Pokemon will appear in Raids:

  • Tier-1 Raids – Galarian Meowth, Galarian Ponyta, Galarian Darumaka, and Unown U.
  • Tier-3 Raids – Galarian Stunfisk, Falinks, and Snorlax
  • Tier-5 Raids – Zamazenta
  • Mega Raids – Mega Pidgeot

Beginning on August 19 at 3 p.m. PT, players will be able to collect avatar uniforms inspired by the uniforms trainers wear in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield. Players will be able to collect the “Gym Challenger Uniform” for free, while the Dragon-Type Sport Uniform and Dark-Type Sport Uniform avatar items will be available to purchase in the in-game shop.

Finally, beginning on August 20 at 10 a.m. local time, players will be able to collect event-themed Gift stickers by visiting PokeStops and Gyms, and stickers will also be available to purchase in the shop.
