Pokemon Go Ultra Unlock Events: Elgyem, Bouffalant, and More

Friday, July 24th, 2020 7:18 am

If trainers hit certain milestones during Pokemon Go Fest, three Ultra Unlock events will be held.

Trainers, Pokemon Go Fest is this weekend! On July 25 and July 26, players around the world will be able to complete Special Research tasks, capture tons of Pokemon, and work together with other users to complete a variety of “global challenges.”

There will be 32 global challenges available to complete on the first day of Pokemon Go Fest. Each time the community finishes eight of them, one of three Ultra Unlock events will be, well, unlocked. This means players will only need to finish 24 of the 32 global challenges to unlock all three events.

Here’s what we can expect from these events, if we successfully unlock them.

Ultra Unlock Week One

If trainers finish at least eight global challenges on July 25, Dragon Week will take place from July 31 at 1 p.m. PT until August 7 at 1 p.m. PT.

During this time, Alolan Exeggutor, Horsea, Dratini, Trapinch, Swablu, and Bagon will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and there will also be the chance for players to encounter Gible, though it will apparently be rare.

Plus, Horsea, Dratini, Trapinch, Swablu, and Bagon will have the chance to hatch from 7 km Eggs. In a news post, Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, said Gible and Deino will also have the chance to hatch from 7 km Eggs, but they’ll be rare.

During Dragon Week, players will have the chance to complete special Timed Research tasks to earn two Deino encounters, and there’s the chance you may encounter Shiny Deino.

Finally, Rayquaza will appear in Tier-5 Raids during Dragon Week.

Ultra Unlock Week Two

If players complete at least 16 global challenges on Day 1 of Pokemon Go Fest 2020, they’ll unlock Enigma Week, which will take place from August 7 at 1 p.m. PT until August 14 at 1 p.m. PT.

During this event, Staryu, Jigglypuff, Clefairy, Lunatone, Solrock, Baltoy, Bronzor, and Elgyem will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and there’s the chance you may run into Shiny Staryu. Plus, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Lunatone, Solrock, and Elgyem will be available to hatch from 7 km Eggs.

During Enigma Week, you’ll be able to challenge Normal Forme Deoxys, Bronzong, Claydol, Elgyem, and the “U,” “L,” “T,” “R,” and “A” forms of Unown in Raids, and there’s the chance you may encounter Shiny Normal Forme Deoxys.

Ultra Unlock Week Three

Finally, if trainers complete at least 24 global challenges on the first day of Pokemon Go Fest, they’ll unlock Unova Week, which will be held from August 14 at 1 p.m. PT until August 21 at 1 p.m. PT.

During Unova Week, Sewaddle, Cottonee, and more Pokemon from the Unova region of the Pokemon universe will appear more frequently in the wild, and will be available to hatch from 7 km Eggs. You’ll also be able to challenge Roggenrola and other Unova Pokemon in Raids, and there’s the chance you may encounter Shiny Roggenrola.

In addition, Bouffalant will make its in-game debut during this event, but Niantic said it will be geolocked to “New York City, USA and the surrounding areas.” Trainers in this area can find Bouffalant in the wild, and they’ll also have the chance to hatch it from 5 km Eggs.

Finally, Genesect will be available to challenge in Tier-5 Raids during Unova Week, and you may encounter a Shiny version of this powerful pocket monster.
