Pokemon Go Test Your Mettle Event: Togedemaru, Celesteela, Kartana, and More

This event focuses on Steel-type Pokemon.

As spotted by Serebii.net, Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, revealed details about a Test Your Mettle event that’s coming soon to Pokemon Go.

The Test Your Mettle event will run from September 16, 2022 at 10 a.m. local time until September 21, 2022 at 8 p.m. local time.

During this event, Magnemite, Pineco, Nosepass, Aron, Beldum, Bronzor, Drilbur, Ferroseed, and Togedemaru will appear more frequently than normal in the wild. Prinplup and Galarian Stunfisk will also have the chance to appear in the wild during this event, though the Pokemon Go website indicated they’ll be rarer than the other featured Pokemon.

Two in-game bonuses will be available during this event:

  • Players will have an increased chance of receiving Candy XL when they catch a Pokemon using a Nice, Great, or Excellent throw.
  • Players will receive more Pokemon Candy than normal when they catch a Pokemon using a Nice, Great, or Excellent throw.

A variety of Pokemon will appear in Raids during this event:

  • Tier-1 Raids – Scyther, Beldum, Shieldon, Klink, and Togedemaru
  • Tier-3 Raids – Magneton, Skarmory, Mawile, and Lairon
  • Mega Raids – Mega Aggron

From September 13 until September 27, Celesteela will appear in Tier-5 Raids in the southern hemisphere.

From September 13 until September 27, Kartana will appear in Tier-5 Raids in the northern hemisphere.

Players will be able to complete Timed Research tasks during this event to earn Aggron Mega Energy and encounters with Aron and Togedemaru.

In addition, Alolan Sandshrew, Alolan Diglett, Galarian Meowth, Riolu, and Galarian Stunfisk will have the chance to hatch from 7 km Eggs that are collected during this event.

Players will be able to complete event-themed Field Research tasks during this event to earn encounters with Magnemite, Pineco, Nosepass, Drilbur, Ferroseed, and Togedemaru. Players may also receive encounters with Beldum when they complete event-themed Field Research tasks, though the Pokemon Go website indicated Beldum will be rarer than the other available Pokemon.

Finally, players may receive Steelix and Scizor Mega Energy when they complete event-themed Field Research tasks during this event.
