Pokemon Go Test Your Mettle: Catch Challenge Timed Research Tasks Guide

The Test Your Mettle event has kicked off in Pokemon Go! This event is focused on Steel-type Pokemon. You can learn more about the Test Your Mettle event in our previous coverage.

As part of the Test Your Mettle event, players can complete a series of Timed Research tasks.

According to Leek Duck, these Timed research tasks are called “Test Your Mettle: Catch Challenge.”

According to Leek Duck, here’s what these Timed Research tasks ask players to do in Pokemon Go, and the rewards players will receive for completing them.

Test Your Mettle: Catch Challenge Part 1

• Catch 25 Steel-Type Pokemon – 25 Poke Balls
• Walk 2 km – An encounter with Onix
• Make 15 Nice Throws – 20 Great Balls
• Make 10 Great Throws – 10 Ultra Balls
• Make 5 Curveball Throws – 10 Pinap Berries
• Use 10 Berries to Help Catch Pokemon – 25 Steelix Mega Energy

Final Rewards: 2,500 experience points, a Magnetic Lure Module, and an encounter with Togedemaru

Test Your Mettle: Catch Challenge Part 2

• Catch 25 Steel-Type Pokemon – 25 Poke Balls
• Make 15 Curveball Throws – 3 Golden Razz Berries
• Evolve 3 Steel-Type Pokemon – 20 Great Balls
• Make 5 Excellent Throws – An encounter with Beldum
• Catch 5 Different Species of Steel-Type Pokemon – An encounter with Alolan Sandshrew
• Take Snapshots of 5 Different Wild Steel-Type Pokemon – 1,000 Stardust

Final Rewards: 50 Aggron Mega Energy, 50 Aron Candy, and an encounter with Aron
