Pokemon Go September 2022 Community Day: Watch Out for Shiny Roggenrola

Wednesday, September 7th, 2022 11:26 am

Mark your calendars!

The next Pokemon Go Community Day event will take place on September 18, 2022 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time.

During this event, Roggenrola will appear more frequently than normal in the wild and players will have the chance to encounter Shiny Roggenrola.

Roggenrola is a Rock-type Pokemon from the fifth generation of the Pokemon universe. In Pokemon Go, players can evolve Roggenrola into Boldore using 50 Roggenrola Candy, and then evolve Boldore into Gigalith using 200 Roggenrola Candy. Boldore can also be evolved into Gigalith without using Pokemon Candy if the Pokemon has been traded.

Each time players evolve Boldore into Gigalith during this event or during the five hours immediately following it, Gigalith will learn the move Meteor Beam.

A variety of in-game bonuses will be active during this event:

  • Eggs will hatch after walking 1/4 of the normal required distance if placed into Incubators during this event.
  • There will be twice the normal chance for players who have reached at least Level 31 to receive Candy XL when catching Pokemon.
  • Players will receive two times the normal number of Pokemon Candy when catching Pokemon.
  • Incense will remain active for three hours when activated during this event.
  • Lure Modules will remain active for three hours when activated during this event.
  • Players will be able to take Snapshots during this event to earn additional encounters with Roggenrola.
  • From 2 p.m. local time until 10 p.m. local time on September 18, 2022, players will be able to perform one extra Special Trade.
  • From 2 p.m. local time until 10 p.m. local time on September 18, 2022, trades will require 50 percent less Stardust to perform.

In addition, players will be able to collect event-themed stickers during this event by spinning the Photo Disc at PokeStops, opening Gifts, and purchasing them in the in-game store.

For September’s Community Day event, players will have the option to spend $1 on a ticket that will give them access to a Special Research storyline on Community Day called “Rock ‘n’ Roll.”

Finally, from 5 p.m. local time until 10 p.m. local time on September 18, 2022, players will be able to participate in Tier-4 Raid battles against Boldore. Players will only be able to use Raid Passes and Premium Raid Passes to participate in these Raid battles. Players will not be able to use Remote Raid Passes to participate in these battles.

Once players complete one of these Tier-4 Raid battles against Boldore, Roggenrola will appear near the Gym that hosted the Raid for 30 minutes.
