This event has a lot to look forward to!

The Pokemon Go expansion for the Pokemon Trading Card Game (Pokemon TCG) will be released on July 1, 2022. To celebrate, the Pokemon Go mobile game will be updated with a Pokemon TCG Crossover Event for a limited time.

Pokemon Go’s Pokemon TCG Crossover Event will run from June 16, 2022 at 10 a.m. local time until June 30, 2022 at 8 p.m. local time.

Once this event begins, Wimpod and Golisopod will become available to collect in Pokemon Go. Players will be able to evolve Wimpod into Golisopod using 400 Wimpod Candy.

During the Pokemon TCG Crossover Event, Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Charmander, Charmeleon, Squirtle, Wartortle, Alolan Rattata, Pikachu wearing a Pokemon TCG hat, Slowpoke, Magikarp, Eevee, Spinarak, Natu, Aipom, Numel, Bidoof, Pidove, and Wimpod will appear more frequently than normal in the wild.

Onix, Chansey, Snorlax, Dragonite, and Slaking will also have the chance to appear in the wild during this event, though the Pokemon Go website indicated they’ll be rarer than the other Pokemon featured during this event.

In addition, Lunatone and Solrock will have the chance to appear in the wild around the world during this event. Typically, these Pokemon are locked to specific hemispheres. Following this event, Lunatone will appear in the western hemisphere, while Solrock will appear in the eastern hemisphere.

Next, Shiny Meltan will have the chance to appear during this event. Players can encounter Meltan by opening the Mystery Box in their inventory. In order to activate the Mystery Box, players will need to transfer at least one Pokemon from Pokemon Go into either Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu or Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee on Nintendo Switch.

After players open the Mystery Box, the time they have to wait before they can open the Mystery Box again will be reduced during this event.

Players will be able to complete nine Collection Challenges during this event.

Six Collection Challenges will be available to complete from June 16, 2022 at 10 a.m. local time until June 30, 2022 at 8 p.m. local time. If players complete these Collection Challenges, they’ll receive rewards including experience points, a Lure Module, an Incubator, and encounters with Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, and Meltan.

The three remaining Collection Challenges will be available to complete from June 23 at 10 a.m. local time until June 30 at 8 p.m. local time. If players can complete these Collection Challenges, they’ll receive encounters with Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise.

A variety of Pokemon will appear in Raids during this event:

  • Tier-1 Raids – Chansey, Larvitar, Timburr, and Wimpod
  • Tier-3 Raids – Alolan Exeggutor, Snorlax, Dragonite, and Slaking
  • Tier-5 Raids – Mewtwo
  • Mega Raids – Mega Venusaur, Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, and Mega Blastoise

Mewtwo will know a different special move during this event, depending on when it’s captured. Specifically, Mewtwo caught from June 16 at 10 a.m. local time until June 23 at 10 a.m. local time will know Shadow Ball, while Mewtwo caught from June 23 at 10 a.m. local time until July 1 at 10 a.m. local time will know Psystrike.

Finally, players will be able to complete Field Research tasks during this event to receive encounters with Ivysaur, Charmeleon, Wartortle, Pikachu wearing a Pokemon TCG Hat and Wimpod. Players will also have the chance to encounter Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Snorlax, Dragonite, and Slaking when completing Field Research tasks during this event, though the Pokemon Go website indicated they’ll be rarer than the other Pokemon featured during this event.
