Pokemon Go March 12 Mystery Bonus Hour: Everything You Need to Know

Thursday, March 12th, 2020 6:48 am

Here's how to make the most of this week's event.

Trainers, a new Mystery Bonus Hour event is set to take place in Pokemon Go from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time on Thursday, March 12.

As reported by Eurogamer, this week’s bonus is double catch Candy, which is pretty exciting!

By default, you receive three Pokemon Candy each time you capture a Pokemon. During this event, however, you’ll receive six. If you want to boost this even more, you can toss a Pinap Berry at a Pokemon before you capture it, and it will double the amount of Candy you’ll receive (so long as the capture attempt is successful). This means you can potentially earn 12 Pokemon Candy for every capture, so long as you have a Pinap Berry to use on every encounter.

As usual, we recommend heading to an area with lots of PokeStops and Gyms to make the most of this short event. In general, more Pokemon spawn near PokeStops and Gyms than in other places, so this should help you encounter lots of pocket monsters in a short amount of time. And remember, if you have any spare Lure Modules, you can activate one on a PokeStop during this event to increase spawns even more.

Have fun!
