Pokemon Go: How to Evolve Croagunk

Tuesday, October 6th, 2020 8:50 am

There's nothing to it!

Croagunk is one of the many featured Pokemon in Pokemon Go’s Fashion Week event, which is taking place from now until October 8 at 10 p.m. PT.

However, Croagunk isn’t appearing in its normal form during this event. Instead, the Poison- and Fighting-type Pokemon is wearing a backwards baseball cap. This is an important factor to keep in mind, since the hat prevents this version of Croagunk from being able to evolve.

A normal Croagunk (without the hat) can be evolved into Toxicroak using 50 Croagunk Candy. There’s no special trick to this evolution. You simply need to collect the 50 Candy and press the “Evolve” button on Croagunk’s page to evolve it.

However, this Evolve button simply doesn’t exist on the page for costumed Croagunk. This is similar to the costumed Kirlia that are also available during the Fashion Week event, and many other costumed Pokemon that have been released over the years (like Pikachu dressed as Mimikyu or Wurmple wearing a party hat, as a couple of examples) — they can’t be evolved.

While many recently released costumed Pokemon simply can’t be evolved, this trend is being broken with October 6’s Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour event, which will feature World Cap Pikachu. World Cap Pikachu will be able to evolve into World Cap Raichu.
