New Pokemon are coming to the free-to-play mobile game.

Update (07/25/2022): As spotted by Serebii.net, Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, revealed the Ultra Unlock bonuses that will be active during the Hisuian Discoveries event. Here are the bonuses that will be active during this event:

  • Friendship levels will grow faster than normal during the event.
  • Players will be able to open up to 45 Gifts each day during the event.
  • Players will be able to send up to 150 Gifts each day during the event.
  • Niantic said, “Trainers can store up to 30 Gifts until the end of the event.”
  • Unown S will appear in Raids during this event. There will be the chance for Unown S to be Shiny.
  • Panpour will appear around the world in the wild and in Raids during this event. There will be the chance for Panpour to be Shiny.

In addition to these bonuses, an Hisuian Discoveries Raid Day event will take place on July 31, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time. During this event, Hisuian Braviary will be available to encounter in Raids, and there will be “an increased chance” for players to encounter Shiny Hisuian Braviary.

In addition, three in-game bonuses will be active during the Hisuian Discoveries Raid Day event:

  • Players will have an increased chance of receiving Rare Candy XL when completing Raid Battles in person during this event.
  • Players will receive 50 percent more experience points when they win Raid Battles during this event.
  • Players will be able to collect up to five free Raid Passes during this event and during the two hours immediately following it by spinning the Photo Discs at Gyms. Players can only hold a single free Raid Pass at a time.

Original Story:

The Hisuian Discoveries event is coming soon to Pokemon Go! This event is inspired by the Hisuian region of the Pokemon universe, which was the setting of the Pokemon Legends: Arceus video game on Nintendo Switch.

The Hisuian Discoveries event will run from July 27 at 10 a.m. local time until August 2, 2022 at 8 p.m. local time.

Once this event begins, Hisuian Growlithe, Hisuian Qwilfish, and Hisuian Sneasel will become available to collect in Pokemon Go.

During this event, Zubat, Ponyta, Onix, Hisuian Voltorb, Tangela, Eevee, Porygon, Aipom, Hisuian Qwilfish, Wurmple, Kricketot, Buizel, Drifloon, Bronzor, and Croagunk will appear more frequently than normal in the wild. Electabuzz, Magmar, Octillery, and Gible will also have the chance to appear in the wild during this event, but the Pokemon Go website indicated they’ll be rarer than the other featured Pokemon.

A variety of Pokemon will appear in Raids during this event:

  • Tier-1 Raids – Sneasel, Roselia, and Shinx
  • Tier-3 Raids – Chansey, Togetic, Kirlia, and Whiscash

Players will have the chance to hatch Hisuian Growlithe, Hisuian Voltorb, Hisuian Qwilfish, and Hisuian Sneasel from 7 km Eggs that are collected during this event.

Players will also be able to complete Collection Challenges during this event to receive experience points, Stardust, and an Incubator.

Next, players will be able to complete event-themed Field Research tasks during this event to earn encounters with Clefairy, Paras, Psyduck, Magnemite, Cyndaquil, Sneasel, Remoraid, Mantine, Shinx, Plant Cloak Burmy, Sand Cloak Burmy, Trash Cloak Burmy, Oshawott, Petilil, and Rowlet.

Elsewhere, players will be able to collect event-themed stickers during this event by opening Gifts, spinning the Photo Discs at PokeStops, and purchasing them from the in-game store. Players will also have the option to purchase avatar clothing items inspired by the outfits the main characters wear in the Pokemon Legends: Arceus video game.

Finally, players will be able to participate in the Hisui Cup in the Go Battle League during this event. The Hisui Cup will have two limitations:

The only Pokemon that will be able to participate in the Hisui Cup are those that were first introduced in the Hisui region of the Pokemon universe or that have a Pokedex number of #387 (Turtwig) to #493 (Arceus). The Pokemon in this series were originally discovered in the Sinnoh region of the Pokemon universe. The Hisui region is what the Sinnoh region used to be called in the distant past in Pokemon lore.

Players will only be able to use Pokemon that have a CP or 1,500 or lower in the Hisui Cup.

Players will have the chance to unlock bonuses that will apply to the Hisuian Discoveries event during the Pokemon Go Fest Seattle event that takes place from July 22-24, 2022. Specifically, if the Pokemon Go community completes the Global Challenge that will be available in Pokemon Go during the Pokemon Go Fest Seattle event, they’ll unlock Ultra Unlock bonuses for the Hisuian Discoveries event.

Keep checking back with SuperParent, as we’ll bring you details about these Ultra Unlock bonuses if they’re unlocked!
