Pokemon Go Friendship Event: Everything You Need to Know

Friday, February 21st, 2020 9:08 am

Celebrate friendship with some great in-game bonuses.

Trainers, get ready for a busy weekend in Pokemon Go. In addition to February’s Pokemon Go Community Day taking place on February 22, a Friendship Weekend event is on now!

From February 21 at 8 a.m. local time to February 24 at 10 p.m. local time, the Friendship Weekend event will give players access to a variety of fun bonuses.

First, friendship levels between in-game friends will increase faster during this event. Remember, your friendship level increases when you interact with your friend in Pokemon Go. For instance, you’ll earn a friendship increase if you battle with a friend in a Raid.

Next, you’ll earn two times the normal amount of Pokemon Candy when trading Pokemon during this Friendship Weekend event. The amount of Candy you earn per trade is determined by the distance between the locations where the two Pokemon were captured. This is a great time to trade Pokemon that were captured really far away from each other if you want to make the most of this bonus.

In addition, during this event, Pokemon trades will cost half the normal amount of Stardust to complete.

Finally, the number of Gifts you can open each day during this event will increase to 40, and the number of Gifts you can carry at one time will increase to 20.
