This is the final weekly challenge event ahead of Pokemon Go Fest.
Trainers, Pokemon Go Fest is right around the corner! But before this yearly event takes place on July 25 and July 26, there’s still one more Pokemon Go Fest Weekly Challenge event to enjoy first.
This week’s event runs from July 17 at 8 a.m. local time to July 22 at 10 p.m. local time. The event has two themes: Friendship and Summer. The “Friendship” portion of the event goes along with a series of Timed Research tasks that will ask you to do things like send gifts to friends and interact with your Buddy Pokemon. Check out our guide to learn more about these tasks, and the prizes you’ll receive as you complete them.
The “Summer” part of this week’s event will cause specific Pokemon to appear throughout the game.
Specifically, “Summer-themed” Pokemon will appear in the wild and in Raids, and you’ll also have the chance to hatch them from Eggs. “Summer Style Pikachu” will also appear in the wild during this event, and you may even run into Shiny Bellsprout as you play.
Plus, Petilil will make its in-game debut as part of this week’s event. In a news post, Niantic, the game’s developer, said Petilil will appear in the wild during “sunny” weather, and it will also have the chance to hatch from 5 km Eggs.
Finally, if you take a Snapshot with a Pokemon during this event, you’ll have the chance to encounter Pokemon such as Krabby and Slowpoke.
