Pokemon Go Fest 2020 Is Happening Around the World This Summer

Wednesday, May 27th, 2020 7:45 am

The event is going virtual this year.

Pokemon Go Fest is one of the biggest yearly events in Pokemon Go, bringing thousands of trainers together in the real world to play together and celebrate their love of Pokemon. While previous Pokemon Go Fest events have been held in locations like Chicago, Illinois and Yokohama, Japan, this year’s event will take place on a global scale, allowing trainers all over the world to experience the event regardless of where they live.

Pokemon Go Fest 2020 is scheduled for July 25 and July 26, 2020. While the event will have a virtual format (meaning you won’t have to travel to a particular city or country to play), it will still be a ticketed experience.

While we don’t have lots of specific details about how this event will work (for instance, we don’t know when tickets will become available), in a news post, Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, did provide a quick preview of what players can expect:

“While we’ll miss the traditional congregation of Pokémon GO fans, we’re thrilled to bring a special Pokémon GO Fest experience to Trainers. Not only are you in for an exciting weekend of bonuses, Pokémon encounters, and Special Research, there will also be exciting ways to connect with other Trainers and experience other fun surprises throughout the entire summer.”

We’ll make sure to let you know when more details about Pokemon Go Fest 2020 are revealed, so keep checking back with us!
