Pokemon Go February 20 Mystery Bonus Hour: Everything You Need to Know

Thursday, February 20th, 2020 7:14 am

You don't have much time to prepare for this week's event.

At the beginning of February 2020, Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, laid out some of its plans for the month ahead, including details about a Valentine’s Day event, a Sinnoh celebration, and more.

Part of this announcement included details about two new experimental events that would be coming to the game: Pokemon Spotlight Hour and Mystery Bonus Hour. Pokemon Spotlight Hour causes one (or more) Pokemon to appear more frequently in the wild for a limited time, while the Mystery Bonus Hour event causes a special bonus to be active in Pokemon Go for just 60 minutes.

Following the first Mystery Bonus Hour on February 6, the event has become a weekly occurrence, with a different bonus being activated each week. On February 6, the mystery bonus allowed players to earn double the normal amount of Stardust when capturing Pokemon. Then, on February 13, players earned double the amount of experience points for completing Raids.

As reported by Eurogamer, the February 20 Mystery Bonus Hour will see the return of the double Stardust bonus. From 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time on February 20, players will receive twice the normal amount of Stardust for each Pokemon they capture.

If you want to make the most of this event, head to a spot with lots of PokeStops, and make sure they each have an active lure during this very limited time event. That way, lots of Pokemon should spawn throughout the event, giving you a chance to stock up on Stardust.

Have fun!
