There's a lot going on during this two-day event.

To kick off the month of November 2021, Pokemon Go will host a Día de Muertos event inspired by the holiday of the same name (the holiday is also called Día de los Muertos or “Day of the Dead”).

Pokemon Go’s Día de Muertos event will run from November 1 at 10 a.m. local time until November 2 at 8 p.m. local time.

During this event, Cubone, Sunkern, Murkrow, Houndour, Sableye, Roselia, Sunflora, Drifloon, and Yamask will appear in the wild. According to the Pokemon Go website, Sunflora, Driflloon, and Yamask will be harder to find than the other Pokemon in this list.

In addition, Cubone, Sunkern, Sunflora, Murkrow, Houndour, Sableye, Drifloon, Alolan Marowak, and Yamask will be attracted to Incense and Lure Modules that are activated during this event. The Pokemon Go website indicated that Alolan Marowak and Yamask will be rarer than the other featured Pokemon.

Players will also be able to earn encounters with Cubone, Sunkern, Roselia, and Alolan Marowak by collecting and completing special Field Research tasks during this event. The Pokemon Go website indicated that Alolan Marowak won’t be as common as the other Pokemon featured as Field Research encounter rewards.

Next, players will be able to complete a Día de Muertos Collection Challenge during this event to earn an encounter with Shedinja, as well as a Poffin and an Incense.

During the Día de Muertos event, players will be able to visit the in-game store to collect a free Día de Muertos t-shirt for their avatar, as well as a free event box containing 20 Poke Balls and an Incense.

Finally, a series of in-game bonuses will be active during this event, and some of these bonuses will only be available to players in Latin America and the Caribbean. Here’s the breakdown:

Bonuses for all players around the world:

  • Lure Modules will remain active for 90 minutes
  • Incense will remain active for 90 minutes
  • Players will earn two times the normal amount of Stardust when catching Pokemon

Bonuses for players in Latin America and the Caribbean:

  • The featured event Pokemon will appear even more frequently in the wild
  • The featured event Pokemon will be attracted to Incense even more frequently

In addition to this Día de Muertos event, a Go Battle Day event will also be held on November 1. It will run from 12 a.m. local time until 11:59 p.m. local time. The Pokemon Go website said players will receive “4× Stardust from win rewards” during this Go Battle Day event.
