Pokemon Go December 2019 Community Day Lets You Grab Battle Moves You Missed

Thursday, November 21st, 2019 7:58 am

If you missed any Community Day events throughout 2019, you'll have another chance to unlock some exclusive battle moves next month.

Update (12/10/19): The Niantic Support Twitter account announced that Pikachu will not be hatching from Eggs on December 14 as originally stated, and that Pichu will actually be available to hatch instead. We’ve updated our post to reflect this information.

For some time now, we’ve assumed that the December 2019 Community Day event in Pokemon Go would be a “year-end wrap-up,” allowing players to encounter every featured Pokemon from 2019’s Community Day events more frequently for a limited time. And while we now know that’s going to be true, December’s event is actually much bigger and better than we anticipated!

From 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. local time on December 14 and December 15, all of the featured Pokemon from 2019’s Community Day events will appear more frequently in the wild. This includes Totodile, Swinub, Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, Ralts, Slakoth, Trapinch, Bagon, Turtwig, and Chimchar.

Plus, the featured Pokemon from 2018’s events will also appear in Raids during this time. For reference, that’s Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu, Eevee, Dratini, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Mareep, Larvitar, and Beldum.

Finally, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time on December 14 and December 15, you’ll earn twice the normal amount of Stardust and experience points when capturing Pokemon, and Eggs will hatch after walking half of the normal required distance if they’re placed into an Incubator during those three hour windows.

There will also be extra events happening separately on the two days.

On December 14, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Pichu, Dratini, Totodile, Mareep, Swinub, Larvitar, Treecko, Torchic, Slakoth, and Bagon will be available to hatch from Eggs. And, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time on December 14, Totodile, Swinub, Treecko, Torchic, Slakoth, and Bagon will have their appearance rates boosted even more, so you can encounter them more often in the wild.

On December 15, meanwhile, Squirtle, Eevee, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Mudkip, Ralts, Trapinch, Beldum, Turtwig, and Chimchar will be available to hatch from Eggs. And, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time, Mudkip, Ralts, Trapinch, Turtwig, and Chimchar will have boosted encounter rates in the wild.

Lastly, from 9 a.m. on December 14 until 9 p.m. on December 15 (local time), all of the exclusive battle moves featured in both the 2018 and 2019 Community Day events will once again be available.

If you need any of these exclusive moves, or you’re just interested in tracking down extra Shiny Pokemon for your collection, make sure to mark your calendars so you don’t miss out on this great two-day event!
