Pokemon Go Community Day: Shiny Rhyhorn, Rhyperior With Rock Wrecker

Friday, February 21st, 2020 9:30 am

Rhyhorn is the star of this weekend's event.

Trainers, it’s almost time for February’s Pokemon Go Community Day! This month’s event takes place on February 22, and will see Rhyhorn appear more frequently in the wild for a limited time, with the actual time slot being determined by where you live. There’s also the chance to run into Shiny Rhyhorn!

For players in the northern hemisphere, the Community Day event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time on February 22. For trainers in the southern hemisphere, the event will take place from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. local time on that day.

Rhyhorn has two evolutions. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Rhyhorn into Rhydon using 25 Rhyhorn Candy, and then evolve Rhydon into Rhyperior using 100 Rhyhorn Candy and a Sinnoh Stone.

When you evolve Rhydon into Rhyperior during this month’s Community Day event (or during the two hours immediately following it), Rhyperior will learn the exclusive battle move Rock Wrecker.

In addition, during this event, you’ll earn three times the normal amount of Stardust when capturing Pokemon.

Finally, if you need some extra Sinnoh Stones, you’ll have the chance to earn some for free by participating in the Pokemon Go Battle League.

Specifically, from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. local time on February 22, you’ll earn two Sinnoh Stones each time you complete a set of five Go Battle League battles (it doesn’t matter if you win or lose those battles). You can complete up to five sets of Go Battle League battles each day, so you can technically earn up to 10 Sinnoh Stones on February 22.

February’s Community Day isn’t the only event going on in Pokemon Go this weekend. The Friendship Weekend event is also happening now, and it gives trainers a variety of fun bonuses, like double the amount of Pokemon Candy when trading Pokemon.
