Pokemon Go Community Day Classic: Watch Out for Shiny Mudkip in April 2022

Monday, March 28th, 2022 10:52 am

Mark your calendars!

Pokemon Go will host its second Community Day Classic event on April 10 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time.

During this event, Mudkip will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and players will have the chance to encounter Shiny Mudkip.

Mudkip is a Water-type Pokemon from the third generation of the Pokemon universe. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Mudkip into Marshtomp using 25 Mudkip Candy, and then evolve Marshtomp into Swampert using 100 Mudkip Candy.

Each time you evolve Marshtomp into Swampert during this event or during the two hours immediately following it, Swampert will learn the move Hydro Cannon.

A number of in-game bonuses will be active during this event:

  • Players will receive three times the normal number of experience points when catching Pokemon
  • Incense will remain active for three hours when activated during the event
  • Lure Modules will remain active for three hours when activated during the event
  • Players will be able to take Snapshots of Pokemon to earn more Pokemon encounters

Players will be able to collect a free bundle of 30 Ultra Balls from the in-game store during this event.

Finally, players will have two optional ways to spend real money during this event.

First, players will have the option to spend $1 on a ticket that will give them access to a Special Research storyline on Community Day.

Players will also have the option to purchase a Community Day Box from the in-game store for 850 PokeCoins that contains 15 Ultra Balls, 15 Pinap Berries, an Elite Fast TM, and a Remote Raid Pass.

Remember, players aren’t required to spend real money (or PokeCoins) to participate in the rest of the Community Day Classic festivities. These options are there for players who want to spend real money (or PokeCoins) to receive extra in-game content.
