Turtwig will appear more frequently than normal for three hours this weekend.
It’s been quite a while since the last Pokemon Go Community Day took place on August 3, but don’t fret trainers! The next Community Day event is this weekend!
On September 15 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time, Turtwig will appear more often than normal in the wild, and this includes the possibility of encountering its rare Shiny form.
Turtwig is a Grass-type Pokemon from Generation IV of the Pokemon universe, seen in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, which hit Nintendo DS in 2007 in North America. Turtwig, along with Chimchar and Piplup, was one of the three starting Pokemon players could choose from in those games.
Turtwig has two evolutions: Grotle and Torterra. In Pokemon Go, players can evolve Turtwig into Grotle using 25 Turtwig Candy, and then evolve Grotle into Torterra using 100 Turtwig Candy. Each time players evolve Grotle into Torterra during the Community Day event (and for up to two hours after it ends), it will learn the exclusive battle move Frenzy Plant.
During the three-hour Community Day window, players will earn three times the normal amount of Stardust when capturing Pokemon, and Lure Modules will remain active for three hours when placed on a PokeStop during the event, rather than the standard 30 minutes.
Finally, while we don’t know the featured Pokemon for future Community Day events, we do know when they’ll take place throughout the rest of 2019:
Have fun!
