Act fast to catch some slow-moving Pokemon!

Trainers, some slow-moving Pokemon are about to make their debut in Pokemon Go as part of a new event called “A Very Slow Discovery.”

The A Very Slow Discovery event will run from June 8 at 10 a.m. local time until June 13 at 10 a.m. local time.

During this event, Slowpoke, Slakoth, Gulpin, Spoink, and other Pokemon that are considered “slow” or “active” will appear more frequently than normal in the wild. Slowbro and Vigoroth will also have the chance to appear in the wild, though, in a news post, Pokemon Go’s developer, Niantic, indicated they’ll be rare.

When this event begins, Galarian Slowpoke, Galarian Slowbro, and Mega Slowbro will be added to Pokemon Go. Once you collect Galarian Slowpoke, you’ll be able to evolve it into Galarian Slowbro after catching 30 Poison-type Pokemon while Galarian Slowpoke is your Buddy Pokemon.

Meanwhile, Mega Slowbro will be available to battle in Mega Raids during this event. You’ll be able to complete event-themed Field Research tasks to receive Slowbro Mega Energy, among other rewards.

During this event, Galarian Slowpoke, Alolan Grimer, Shellder, Shinx, and Timburr will appear in Tier-1 Raids, while Snorlax, Slowking, Slaking, and Toxicroak will appear in Tier-3 Raids.

Players will also be able to complete a Slowpoke-themed Collection Challenge during this event to earn a “Slowpoke Forever Shirt” for their in-game avatar, as well as 30 Ultra Balls and 3,000 experience points.

Finally, additional Slowpoke-themed avatar items will be available in the game’s Shop, and players will also be able to claim a free event box containing 20 Poke Balls, 10 Great Balls, and a King’s Rock. Players will also be able to collect Slowpoke-themed stickers during this event by visiting PokeStops and opening in-game gifts.
