Pokemon Go A Valorous Hero Event: Mega Pinsir and More

This event is themed after Candela, the leader of Team Valor in 'Pokemon Go.'

A new event called “A Valorous Hero” is coming soon to Pokemon Go. This event will be themed after Candela, the leader of Team Valor in Pokemon Go.

The A Valorous Hero event will run from May 11, 2023 at 10 a.m. local time until May 17, 2023 at 8 p.m. local time.

Once this event begins, Mega Pinsir will begin appearing in Mega Raids in Pokemon Go.

A variety of Pokemon will appear in Raids during this event. Here’s the breakdown:

  • Tier-1 Raids – Hisuian Growlithe, Galarian Ponyta, and Hoothoot
  • Tier-3 Raids – Galarian Stunfisk, Druddigon, Hisuian Braviary, and Hisuian Avalugg
  • Tier-5 Raids – Tapu Fini
  • Mega Raids – Mega Pinsir

Two in-game bonuses will be active during this event:

  • Players will receive two times the normal number of Pokemon Candy when catching Pokemon.
  • Players who have reached at least Level 31 in Pokemon Go will have twice the normal chance of receiving Candy XL when catching Pokemon.

This event will allow players to complete Timed Research tasks to earn a Fast TM and a Charged TM. Players will also be able to complete event-themed Field Research tasks to earn Stardust, Revives, Hyper Potions, and encounters with Ponyta.

Finally, once this event begins, a new Special Research storyline called “A Valorous Hero” will be added to the game. Players can complete this storyline to receive in-game rewards including an encounter with Ponyta wearing a Candela-themed accessory.
