Players can earn a new pose for their in-game avatar.

The 2022 Bug Out event has kicked off in Pokemon Go! This event will run from August 10, 2022 at 10 a.m. local time until August 16, 2022 at 8 p.m. local time. You can learn more about this event in our previous coverage.

As part of the 2022 Bug Out event, players can complete a Collection Challenge to receive in-game rewards.

According to Leek Duck, the Bug Out Collection Challenge will challenge players to collect 16 Pokemon before the 2022 Bug Out event ends:

  • Caterpie
  • Weedle
  • Wurmple
  • Grubbin
  • Dewpider
  • Joltik
  • Karrablast
  • Shelmet
  • Silcoon
  • Cascoon
  • Ariados
  • Ledian
  • Kricketune
  • Charjabug
  • Skorupi
  • Pineco

According to Leek Duck, Silcoon, Cascoon, Ariados, Ledian, Kricketune, and Charjabug can only be “collected” for this Collection Challenge through evolution. This means players will need to evolve Wurmple into Cascoon, evolve Ledyba into Ledian, and so on, to complete these entries in the Collection Challenge.

You can learn more about evolving Wurmple into Cascoon and Silcoon in our guide.

The other Pokemon in this Collection Challenge will have the chance to appear in the wild during the 2022 Bug Out event. According to the Pokemon Go website, Pineco and Skorupi will be rarer than some of the other Pokemon that will appear in the wild during this event, but they will still have the chance to appear in the wild.

Finally, players can also collect Pineco and Joltik through Tier-1 Raids during this event.

If players complete this Collection Challenge before time runs out, they’ll receive 15,000 experience points and the Bug Catcher Pose for their in-game avatar.
