Watch out for new Shadow Pokemon!

Trainers, a new Team Go Rocket event is coming soon to Pokemon Go!

The Team Go Rocket Celebration event will run from February 2 at 10 a.m. local time until February 7 at 8 p.m. local time.

During this time, Golbat, Koffing, Ariados, Qwilfish, Sneasel, Houndour, Nuzleaf, Stunky, Skorupi, and Venipede will appear more frequently than normal in the wild. You’ll also see more Team Go Rocket members at PokeStops and in balloons during this event.

When you battle Team Go Rocket, you’ll have the chance to see new pocket monsters that have been transformed into Shadow Pokemon. This includes Swinub, Nosepass, Aron, Spheal, Lileep, and Anorith, among others. Team Go Rocket Grunts will have different Pokemon on their teams both during and after this event.

Plus, when you defeat a Team Go Rocket Leader during this event, you’ll have the chance to receive a Team Go Rocket Leader Gift sticker that you can place on a Gift before sending it to a friend.

Once this event begins, a different set of Pokemon will be available to encounter in Strange Eggs. Specifically, Qwilfish, Larvitar, Corphish, Absol, Skorupi, Sandile, Scraggy, Pawniard, and Deino will have the chance to hatch from Strange Eggs that are collected during this event, as well as Eggs that are collected after the event ends.

Players will also be able to complete event-themed Field Research and Timed Research tasks to receive in-game rewards, and Eggs will hatch after walking half of the normal required distance when they’re placed into an Incubator during this Team Go Rocket event.

Finally, players will be able to take on a variety of Pokemon in Raids during this event. Here’s the lineup:

  • Tier-1 Raids – Alolan Meowth, Alolan Grimer, Gligar, Sneasel, Shinx, and Klink
  • Tier-3 Raids – Nidoqueen, Ariados, Umbreon, Tyranitar, and Absol
  • Tier-5 Raids – Raikou will appear until February 4 at 10 a.m. local time. For the rest of this event, Suicune will be available to battle.
  • Mega Raids – Mega Venusaur, Mega Ampharos, and Mega Houndoom
