Head back to the Sinnoh region in these remakes of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl.

In a Pokemon Presents video presentation Friday, The Pokemon Company revealed Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl, the next two titles in the main series of Pokemon video games, which are coming to Nintendo Switch.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl are remakes of Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl, which were released on Nintendo DS in 2006. The games will take players to the Sinnoh region of the Pokemon universe, where they can choose from three starting Pokemon before beginning their adventure: Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup.

Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are described as “faithful remakes” of the original games, but, in a press release, The Pokemon Company said they will also feature “the easy-to-understand, player-friendly conveniences introduced in recent Pokémon core series video games, in addition to up-close-and-personal Pokémon battle scenes.”

As with other core Pokemon video games, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will feature different exclusive Pokemon. As one example, Brilliant Diamond will feature the Legendary Pokemon Dialga, while Shining Pearl will feature the Legendary Pokemon Palkia.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl will be released on Nintendo Switch in late 2021. We’ll make sure to bring you more details about these two games as they’re revealed.
