Frontier, the company behind games like Planet Coaster and Jurassic World Evolution, announced the release date for Planet Zoo: Console Edition on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Planet Zoo was originally released on PC in 2019. The zoo management game allows players to build and manage zoos and care for a wide variety of animals. The game features multiple gameplay modes, including a Career mode, a Franchise Mode, a Challenge Mode, and a Sandbox Mode.

Planet Zoo: Console Edition will be available in three versions: a basic version, a Deluxe Edition, and an Ultimate Edition.

The basic version will include the base game of Planet Zoo: Console Edition. It will be priced at $49.99.

The Deluxe Edition will include the base game of Planet Zoo: Console Edition, as well as the Deluxe Upgrade Pack, which includes 16 additional animal species and two additional campaign scenarios. The Deluxe Edition will be priced at $59.99.

Finally, the Ultimate Edition of Planet Zoo: Console Edition will include everything in the Deluxe Edition of the game, as well as the game’s Season Pass, which will give players access to 14 downloadable content (DLC) packs that will be released between the game’s launch date and March 2025. Altogether, these DLC packs will feature 81 animal species, 15 campaign scenarios and more than 2,000 decorative items that can be used to decorate zoos. The Ultimate Edition will be priced at $119.99.

If players decide to purchase the basic version or the Deluxe Edition of Planet Zoo: Console Edition, they’ll have the option to purchase the Season Pass separately at a later time.

Planet Zoo: Console Edition will be released digitally on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on March 26, 2024. Players who pre-order the game will receive three extra animals once the game is released: the Thomson’s Gazelle, the Pygmy Hippopotamus, and the Komodo Dragon.

Planet Zoo is rated E10+ for Everyone 10+ by the ESRB. You can learn more about Planet Zoo in our review of the PC version of the game.
