Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity Expansion Pass: Everything We Know So Far

Two sets of downloadable content are being developed for the game.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity was released on Switch in late 2020. The game takes place 100 years before The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and it allows players to experience the event known as the “Great Calamity.”

Rather than being an open-world adventure game like Breath of the Wild, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is a hack-n-slash game that allows players to quickly kill hundreds of enemies during battles using a combination of light and heavy attacks, as well as a variety of special abilities.

Later this year, new content will be released for Age of Calamity as paid downloadable content (DLC). Specifically, there will be two waves of DLC released for the game, which fans can purchase at the same time by buying the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Expansion Pass.

This Expansion Pass costs $19.99, and it’s available to purchase right now. However, the DLC won’t actually be released for the game until later this year. Buying the Expansion Pass now will give you access to both DLC packs as soon as they’re available.

The first DLC pack will be released in June 2021. It will include new characters, new enemies, new weapons, and new challenges for the Royal Ancient Lab.

Then, in November, the second DLC will be released. It will feature new character vignettes, new stages, even more characters, and new battle skills for the game’s existing characters.

Finally, players who purchase the Expansion Pass will receive a new in-game weapon and costume for Link. These bonuses will be available starting on May 28.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is available now on Switch for $59.99. The game is rated T for Teen by the ESRB. Learn more about the game, and see it in action, in our SuperParent First Look.
