Help friendly animals save the local arcade.

Button City is a narrative adventure game that takes place in an extremely colorful world of the same name. Players will take on the role of Fenn, a fox who has just moved to town, who will need to team up with some new friends to stop the local arcade from being shut down.

In Button City, players will complete quests at the arcade and around town to push the story forward. Players can chat with a variety of talking animals, like rabbits and pandas, and during some conversations, they may be able to choose from multiple responses.

As a narrative adventure game, Button City is heavily focused on telling a story, rather than fast-paced action. However, the game does feature some mini-games that players can try in the arcade.

For instance, the Gobabots game challenges two teams of four characters to collect fruit around an arena and then deliver it to a blender in the middle of the arena in order to earn points. Each player has a weapon they can use to attack members of the enemy team, and when they lose all of their health, they’ll respawn on their side of the arena and can keep playing.

According to the game’s developer, Subliminal, the storyline in Button City is “about growing up and saving the things that are important to you.” While this makes it a great experience for kids, the game doesn’t feature voice-acting, so players need to know how to read to follow along with the story.

Button City is now available on Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Mac for $19.99. The game is rated E for Everyone by the ESRB.
