Animal Crossing New Horizons: How to Get the King Tut Mask

First, you'll need to find a Gold Nugget...

Wave 2 of the Summer Update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons added two major features to the life simulation game: dreaming and fireworks shows. The update also introduced an interesting new crafting recipe that you have to unlock in a very specific way.

As reported by Instagram user “yuecrossing,” you can only craft the King Tut Mask after you collect a gold nugget. Specifically, you need to collect a “new” gold nugget that comes from a rock. If you have gold nuggets in your storage or inventory, these won’t count.

Once you pick up the gold nugget, your character will automatically become inspired and will learn the recipe for the King Tut Mask. From there, you can head to any crafting station and craft the mask using five gold nuggets.

This mask is a very large “clothing” item, and it doesn’t have any eye holes for your character to see through. This means you may trip and fall if you run around while wearing it. This “tripping” feature doesn’t really do anything except add some extra fun to the game.

You can see the full process of finding a gold nugget and crafting the King Tut Mask (along with some tripping) in our gameplay video below.
