Animal Crossing New Horizons: How to Get Ornaments

Tuesday, December 15th, 2020 7:23 am

Celebrate the holidays with new crafting materials and recipes!

A festive new crafting season has started in Animal Crossing: New Horizons!

From December 15 to “early January,” players can collect ornaments on their islands that can be used to create a variety of holiday-themed DIY crafting recipes.

There are three different types of ornaments available to collect: Blue Ornaments, Gold Ornaments, and Red Ornaments. You can collect all three in the same way — by shaking the decorated Cedar Trees around your island (the ones with festive lights on them).

Keep in mind, it’s possible that some Cedar Trees on your island won’t be decorated. These don’t contain ornaments. You need to shake the trees with lights if you want ornaments.

Check out our short gameplay video below to see this process in action!

Now that you know how to collect ornaments, head over to our guide to see all of the fun recipes you can create with them!

With so many festive recipes available to craft, it will likely take you quite a while to collect all of the ornaments you need to create them all. That being the case, you may want to check out the ChargePlay Clutch from HyperX. It can extend your device’s battery life so you can play New Horizons (and other Switch games) for a longer period of time before having to charge your Switch. Head over to HyperX’s website to learn more about the ChargePlay Clutch and the company’s other Switch accessories.
