Pokemon Go Fest 2021: Real World Celebrations Are Coming to 22 Cities

Thursday, July 1st, 2021 1:07 pm

These events won't affect the in-game experience.

Pokemon Go Fest 2021 will be held on July 17 and July 18 for players all around the world. While the in-game experience will be the same for every player, regardless of where they are in the world, Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, announced that 22 real-world Pokemon Go Fest celebrations will also take place in certain cities during the event.

These “socially distanced experiences” will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time on July 17, and they’ll give trainers the chance to take pictures with “photo ops” in each event location.

Again, these real-world events will not affect the in-game experience for attendees, and every player around the world can experience the full Pokemon Go Fest event if they buy a ticket. These real-world events simply give trainers the chance to come together to celebrate their love of Pokemon Go with other players.

The 22 events will take place in the following cities:

  • Linz, AT
  • Dresden, DE
  • Essen, DE
  • Hamburg, DE
  • Sevila, ES
  • Paris, FR
  • Warsaw, PL
  • Bristol, UK
  • Edinburg, UK
  • Liverpool, UK
  • London, UK
  • Auckland, NZ
  • San Francisco, CA
  • Denver, CO
  • Atlanta, GA
  • Chicago, IL
  • Indianapolis, IN
  • New York City, NY
  • Nashville, TN
  • Austin, TX
  • Seattle, WA
  • Washington, D.C.

There’s no cost to attend one of these events, but capacity will be limited and players will need to register for each event beforehand. If you’re interested in attending one of these celebrations, you can register on Niantic’s website or through the “Events” area in Pokemon Go.

Registration will be handled on a first come, first served basis, so make sure to register as quickly as possible if you want to attend one of these real-world celebrations!
